Author: I mean it can only cover so much land? So is it possible to see rain falling right infront of you but not on you..
Hard to explain..
Like a barrier of rain..

Rain is sometimes localized to such extent that you can see it falling nearby but it is not falling on you. Most of the time, areas of rain are more diffuse, and the exact edge of the area of rain can be difficult to pinpoint.
Rain can stop anywhere both vertically(mid air) and horizontally(a few feet in front of you).It is very difficult to tell as it is somtimes very much localised.One particular cloud will give rain for a few minutes and go whereas others following that cloud may not give at all.
