Do I Have Bad Taste Or Am I Too Interested In Fashion?
I like to keep up to date with the latest trends, I am always researching fashion and seeing what it hot with celebs and the catwalk. This is my style!however my friends don’t like the way I dress because they like clothes from Jane Norman and Peacocks, places like that which I wouldn’t say are that fashionable. I mean I am not a fashion follower but I like to play with my clothes. My other fashion interested folkes think I dress great but my closer friends think otherwise. You can’t please everyone but I wish people would understand. What could I say?

i’m exactly the same
i like to wear fashionable, stylish looks and my friends are all plain t-shirts and jeans girls
put it this way i look dressed up in a slouch cardigan skinny jeans and jewellery
that wt i tend to wear so i still look fashionable but my friends “get it”
i’m not brave like you and save the trends for going ou with family or away etc.
anywhere nt with my friends
you could say you are proud of your style and like looking different from them and they don’t have to like it
its YOUR style and you might not be fans of their looks but your not mean about it
your don’t want to look the same as everyoneelse or them
fashion is about displaying individuallity and thats what it is
just because you don’t dress like them doesn’t make their style right
btw i literally dream about clothes whereas my friends just don’t get i they get up in the mornin and throw something on where as i think about it
so i really understand where your coming from
sorry its so long
You don’t have to please everyone! it’s good to be different, i love fashion but i have my bad days sometimes to but to be honest i don’t care because at the time i think i looked good in it so i don’t listen to what other people say, if you like something wear it and tell the rest to bugger off! if your friends judge your clothes are they you real friends?! so what if you don’t have the same taste as your friends it just means you stand out more =D!
Tej is very insightful. Listen and learn. Have you asked them why they do not like your style? Sounds like jealousy to me. Why question someones taste unless you feel embarrassed because you can’t look as good or cannot afford it. Maybe they are just clueless and you could help them update their look. It could become the new project in the group to look fierce.
Fashion can define you. And don’t you wanna be defined as unique?

Don’t let them get to you, wear what you want and how you want it.
I’m sick of the same things, so I think different’s brilliant!
I don’t like Jane Norman and Peacocks either, but who says just cause you don’t shop there you’re not fashionable?
The way you sound, I know you are
So, You’re always researching fashion and seeing what’s “hot” with celebrities and keeping up to date with the latest trends, yet You’re not a follower of fashion and it’s Your style? Your question is nearly as self-contradictory as the Bible.
That you like the way u dress and that your clothes are your own style. Its better to be unique and get noticed than be normal and not get noticed =]
you go with the catwalk fashion the go with highstreet fashion.

Why worry what others think, like you said, it’s your style. I think it’s great when young beautiful and gorgeous women want to always look their best and keep in style with the latest fashions. I mean look at Rachel Zoe, she’s beautiful and always looks her best and as a stylist that is what she does, makes her clients look gorgeous for runway shows, special appearances. It just shows you really care about the latest clothes you wear and what is wrong with that?
Nothing. So, keep on buying those fashion magazines, (for myself since I love Project Runway for the clothes, I now subscribe to “Glamour,” “Lucky” and even ‘Allure” magazines just because I love the clothes and maybe someday will be a professional stylist or a fashion designer with my own brands.)
